CCR PUBLICATION CLEARANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Follow these procedures using the clearance form at:
http://www1.od.nih.gov/oir/sourcebook/oversight/pub-clear-form.htm
NOTE: A copy of the clearance form should be given to Stephanne for the LPG files and another copy kept in the files of the contributing PI. (It is not necessary to have the clearance form signed by the Scientific Director.)
Manuscripts and Letters to the Editor
IF THE FIRST AUTHOR IS A CCR INVESTIGATOR:
Select a PI from the respective lab as an initial reviewer. Your Lab/Branch Chief should approve your choice of reviewers.
The Lab/Branch Chief is final reviewer for approval.
NOTE: It is the responsibility of the Lab/Branch Chief to review the manuscript for overall scientific merit.
It is also the Lab Chief’s responsibility to inform the CCR Director or Deputy if the manuscript contains information which might receive attention from the lay press or might be considered controversial.
IF THE FIRST AUTHOR IS A CCR LAB/BRANCH CHIEF:
Select a PI from the respective lab as an initial reviewer.
Select another Lab/Branch Chief as final reviewer for approval.
CLINICAL BRANCHES:
Clearance for patient-related publications by the Clinical Director (Frank Balis) is no longer necessary; however, an information copy should be forwarded to him (10/12N214).
Follow instructions above for clearance.
IF PRIMARY AUTHORS ARE AT ANOTHER INSTITUTION:
Clearance is still required for CCR authors as above.
A COPY OF THE CLEARANCE FORM SHOULD BE FILED IN YOUR OFFICE
